His most important role is to provide you, the client, with effective, professional & humane training for your dog. Training that makes your life easier by teaching your dog how to behave and live within the rules and family structure of a normal family life.

Dogs have always been a huge part of his life. His very first dog growing up was a Beagle named ‘Rosco”. His dad raised and trained Beagles for hunting and field trails competition. Rosco was a pup that just didn’t want to hunt at a young age. John was incredibly kind and patient and a super companion to Rosco growing up. And, yes, it was John who eventually trained him to hunt and Rosco became one of his dad’s top stud dogs!

The breed that John chose to own and train as a young adult was the Rottweiler. His first two dogs were females and amazing obedience trained dogs. He competed in many AKC competitions with Jewel and Emerald. Later, after several years of training and competing with Rottweilers in the dog sport of Schutzhund. John started his own Rottweiler kennel in Texas with the registered kennel “Land-Line- K9”. Schutzhund is a German dog competition that demonstrates the dog’s ability to work in tracking, obedience, and protection. John Landry has been competing in Schutzhund since 2006 to present with German Shepherds.

Throughout the years, John has assisted many pet owners in becoming partners with their beloved K9s. Bad habits which he concentrates on are jumping, chewing, barking & lots more. John totally understands where owners coming from! He had to correct the same behaviors with his own dogs.

John is known to be a problem solver. Challenging behavior problems keep him on his toes!

Born in Poland, from day 1 in her life, there were dogs in her family. Unfortunately, at that time most people did not train their dog, which meant that the dogs had food aggressions, snapped, and even bit sometimes. But nobody could explain why over all the years none of the dogs ever showed any kind of bad attitude towards Renja.

At the age of 8 years, Renja and her family immigrated to Germany. Though she had to learn the new language, it did not stop her from making great friends right away... all the neighbor’s dogs. With her passion for dogs, Renja won the trust of the owners in no time, to play with and walk their best friends.

Whenever there was a family or sport event (her 2 brothers and dad played soccer), if there was dog near her, she would often miss the whole game or mealtimes, because teaching dogs new tricks and playing with them was always her priority.

At 15 Renja herself realized that dogs were not just her passion, but she also had a special gift to bond with them and win their trust. This was when a family friend got a Rottweiler, and after one year nobody else was able to handle this huge, strong dog. When the owner needed someone to watch him, Renja was the only one who handled this big male (almost 140 lbs.) with a smile on her face. So, she became a member of a German dog training club.

From this time, Renja was always there to help other dog owners to fix problems for a better life with their pets. In 1997 she started professional dog training. Her first dog to be trained was an 8-month-old, 120 lbs. Greater Swiss Mountain dog. From an absolutely untrained dog, that lived only in a kennel, in only 8 weeks, he brought a trophy home for a BH competition. There was no turning back. Renja continued competition training and competed with her own dog a few times every year, with an amazing amount of success.

In 2008 Renja immigrated to the US. After a short time, her directions changed. Seeing all the dogs in the shelters here was shocking to her. Today Renja has 3 rescue dogs and one German Shepherd on her own. Her drive to compete with her own dogs is not a priority anymore. Her calling is to rescue dogs, support animal shelters, help other dog owners become the best dog parents possible, and let them discover the amazing potential of their dog. She specialized in pack behavior and dog psychology, using dog’s natural instinct to win their mind. One of the best rewards for Renja is when she realizes that her training prevented a family from surrendering their dog to a shelter and instead sees them having the best time of their lives together.

Haley has always had a passion for animals. As a young child, she could frequently be found in the backyard with her dogs, coercing them to go under, over, shake, roll, and any other crazy idea she might come up with. Even the cats would fall victim to Haley's "what else can we do, today" games. For Haley, there was no greater satisfaction than teaching an old dog new tricks. The greatest satisfaction, however, was the pride she felt from her animals at their own accomplishments. It was a bond she learned exceedingly well early in her life. 

At 10 years old, Haley became one of the youngest volunteers at Victory Alliance Ranch-a local ranch that serves disabled veterans and children with special needs. The ranch is home to over 60 horses and countless farm animals. At first, the owner of the ranch was not sure about taking on such a young volunteer. Haley's mother convinced the owner that Haley was not your average kid. Even at 10 years old, her connection with animals, patience, persistence, and work ethic, made her an exceptional human being. To Haley, training horses is nothing more than training a thousand-pound dog. Today, Haley has three horses of her own and she is still serving the ranch regularly as a horse trainer, Special Olympics coach, and animal caregiver. 

When Haley was given the opportunity to become a professional dog trainer, she did not think twice. Working daily, hands-on, under the instruction of a professional like Renja Schmitt, was the perfect opening for bringing all her natural abilities and hard-earned skills together. Now she uses her connection with animals to help others experience the same satisfaction she felt as a child. Haley takes great pride in watching an owner and his dog move forward as a team, mutually satisfied with their accomplishments, and enriched with a deeper understanding of one another. She strives to not only help you train your dog, but to also have a better relationship with your dog.

It was not surprising for us, to witness that the dogs who accomplished their training with Haley, scored high in the obedience test and other competitions!
